  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg

  • 4 medium apples, peeled and sliced
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).

  3. In another bowl, cream together butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until smooth.
  4. Beat in the eggs and vanilla, then gradually mix in the flour mixture.
  5. Spoon half of the batter into a greased baking dish.
  6. Layer the apple slices over the batter and drizzle with lemon juice.
  7. Spoon the remaining batter over the apples.
  8. Bake for 40-45 minutes or until golden brown.
