Caramelized Leek and Mushroom Gruyere Pasta

A rich and creamy pasta dish featuring caramelized leeks and mushrooms, topped with gruyere cheese.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups leeks, sliced
  • 1 cup mushrooms, chopped
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup gruyere cheese, shredded
  • 8 ounces pasta of choice
  • Salt to taste
  • Black pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Cook pasta according to package instructions; drain and set aside.
  2. In a skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add leeks and sauté until caramelized.
  3. Add mushrooms and cook until soft.
  4. Stir in heavy cream and bring to a simmer.
  5. Add gruyere cheese, stirring until melted.
  6. Combine pasta with the sauce, add salt and pepper to taste.
  7. Serve hot, garnished with additional cheese if desired.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, add garlic while sautéing leeks and mushrooms.
