Chinese Beef and Broccoli

A flavorful dish combining tender beef and fresh broccoli, perfect for a quick dinner.

  • 1 pound beef (flank or sirloin, sliced thinly)
  • 2 cups broccoli florets
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • 3 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 1 tablespoon ginger (grated)
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons oyster sauce
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 1/2 cup beef broth
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 1 tablespoon sugar

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, mix together soy sauce, oyster sauce, cornstarch, beef broth, sesame oil, and sugar. Set aside.
  2. Heat the vegetable oil in a pan over medium-high heat. Add the beef slices and stir-fry until browned. Remove from the pan.
  3. In the same pan, add garlic and ginger, sauté for 30 seconds. Then, add broccoli and stir-fry until tender.
  4. Return the beef to the pan and pour the sauce mixture over. Stir to coat evenly. Cook for additional 2-3 minutes.
  5. Serve immediately over rice.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, marinate the beef in soy sauce for 30 minutes before cooking.
  • You can add more vegetables like bell peppers or carrots.
