Cinnamon French Toast Biscuits

A delightful and unique breakfast option that combines the flavors of cinnamon French toast with the flaky goodness of biscuits.

  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, cold and cubed
  • 3/4 cup milk
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 tablespoon maple syrup

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, and cinnamon.
  3. Add the cold cubed butter and mix until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  4. In another bowl, combine the milk, egg, vanilla extract, and maple syrup.
  5. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir until just combined.
  6. Turn the dough onto a floured surface and gently knead it a few times until it comes together.
  7. Roll out the dough to about 1 inch thick and cut into biscuit shapes.
  8. Place the biscuits on the prepared baking sheet and bake for 12-15 minutes or until golden brown.
  9. Serve warm with additional maple syrup and a sprinkle of cinnamon.
