  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a baking dish.
  2. In a bowl, mix flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, and ground cinnamon.
  3. In another bowl, cream together the butter and granulated sugar. Add eggs and vanilla, mix well.
  4. Alternate adding the flour mixture and buttermilk to the butter mixture until combined.
  5. In a separate small bowl, mix brown sugar and ground cinnamon for the swirl.
  6. Pour half of the batter into the baking dish, sprinkle with cinnamon mixture, then add remaining batter. Swirl with a knife.
  7. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  8. Let cool, then serve.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, add nuts to the filling.
