  • 1 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup chopped walnuts (optional)
  • 1 cup powdered sugar (for frosting)
  • 2 tablespoons milk (for frosting)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, cream together the butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until smooth.
  3. Add the eggs and vanilla extract, mixing until fully blended.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, cinnamon, baking soda, and salt.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring until combined. Fold in the walnuts if using.
  6. Drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
  7. Bake for 10-12 minutes or until the edges are lightly golden.
  8. While the cookies cool, prepare the frosting by mixing the powdered sugar and milk until smooth. Drizzle or spread on cooled cookies.

Notes

  • For a stronger cinnamon flavor, add more cinnamon to the frosting.
  • Make sure your butter is softened to room temperature for better mixing.
