Classic Southern Style Meatloaf

A delicious twist on a classic dish, this meatloaf combines tender turkey bacon with traditional flavors for a memorable meal.

  • 2 pounds ground turkey
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 cup finely chopped onion
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/4 cup ketchup
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried thyme
  • 1/2 cup turkey bacon, chopped

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large bowl, mix together the ground turkey, breadcrumbs, onion, garlic, milk, eggs, ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, salt, pepper, thyme, and turkey bacon until well combined.
  3. Mold the mixture into a loaf shape and place it in a greased baking dish.
  4. Bake in the preheated oven for about 1 hour, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C).
  5. Let rest for 10 minutes before slicing and serving.

Notes

  • Serve with mashed potatoes and green beans for a classic southern meal.
  • Leftover meatloaf can be used in sandwiches.
