Copycat Ruth’s Chris Potatoes au Gratin

A delicious and indulgent copycat version of Ruth’s Chris famous Potatoes au Gratin, perfect for special occasions or a comforting dinner at home.

Ingredients

  • 2 pounds Yukon gold potatoes
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup milk
  • 3 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • salt to taste
  • pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Peel and slice the potatoes thinly.
  3. In a saucepan, combine the heavy cream, milk, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Heat until warm.
  4. In a greased baking dish, layer the potatoes and sprinkle with cheddar cheese and some Parmesan.
  5. Pour the cream mixture over the potatoes and top with remaining cheese.
  6. Dot with butter.
  7. Bake for about 45 minutes, or until the potatoes are tender and the top is golden.

Notes

  • For an extra crispy top, broil for a few minutes after baking.
