Crispy Rice and Spicy Tuna Bites

A delicious and creative way to enjoy sushi at home, using crispy rice and spicy tuna to create bite-sized delights!

Ingredients

  • 2 cups sushi rice
  • 1 pound sashimi-grade tuna
  • 2 tablespoons mayonnaise
  • 2 teaspoons Sriracha
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 1 teaspoon rice vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon chopped green onions
  • 1 avocado, sliced
  • 1/2 cup tempura batter
  • 1/4 cup panko breadcrumbs

Instructions

  1. Cook the sushi rice according to package instructions and let it cool.
  2. In a bowl, mix the mayonnaise, Sriracha, soy sauce, and sesame oil. Fold in the diced tuna and green onions.
  3. Form the cooled sushi rice into rectangular shapes and coat them in tempura batter, then panko breadcrumbs.
  4. Fry the rice blocks until golden and crispy.
  5. Top each crispy rice piece with the spicy tuna mixture and a slice of avocado.
  6. Serve immediately with extra Sriracha if desired.

Notes

  • For extra crunch, you can add fried shallots on top.
  • Adjust the spiciness by varying the amount of Sriracha.
