Crockpot French Dip

A delicious and easy recipe for Crockpot French Dip sandwiches that feature tender beef and a savory au jus for dipping.

  • 2 pounds beef chuck roast
  • 1 onion, sliced
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 8 hoagie rolls
  • 8 slices provolone cheese

Instructions

  1. Place the beef chuck roast in the crockpot.
  2. Add the sliced onion and minced garlic over the meat.
  3. In a bowl, mix together the beef broth, water, Worcestershire sauce, thyme, black pepper, and salt. Pour this mixture over the meat.
  4. Cover and cook on low for 8 hours or until the beef is tender.
  5. Once done, shred the beef and mix it back into the juices.
  6. Serve the beef on hoagie rolls topped with provolone cheese.
  7. Use the remaining broth as au jus for dipping.

Notes

  • You can add extra toppings like peppers or mushrooms if desired.
  • This recipe can be made a day ahead and stored in the refrigerator.
