Ina Garten Green Bean Casserole

A delicious twist on the classic green bean casserole with turkey bacon.

  • 1 pound fresh green beans
  • 6 slices turkey bacon
  • 1 cup sliced mushrooms
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 cup crispy fried onions
  • Salt to taste
  • Pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F.
  2. Trim the green beans and blanch them in boiling water for 3-4 minutes.
  3. In a skillet, cook the turkey bacon until crispy, then chop.
  4. Add mushrooms to the skillet and sauté until soft.
  5. In a large bowl, combine the green beans, bacon, mushrooms, cream, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper.
  6. Transfer to a baking dish and top with crispy fried onions.
  7. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until bubbly and golden on top.

Notes

  • This casserole can be made ahead of time and baked just before serving.
  • Feel free to substitute regular bacon if desired.
