Ina Garten’s Green Bean Casserole

A delicious twist on the classic green bean casserole with turkey bacon adding a rich flavor.

  • 1 pound fresh green beans
  • 6 slices turkey bacon
  • 1 cup cream of mushroom soup
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 cup fried onions
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Trim the ends of the green beans and blanch them in boiling water for about 5 minutes.
  3. In a skillet, cook the turkey bacon until crispy, then crumble it into pieces.
  4. In a large bowl, combine the blanched green beans, cream of mushroom soup, milk, garlic powder, black pepper, crumbled turkey bacon, and half of the fried onions.
  5. Pour the mixture into a baking dish and top with the remaining fried onions and shredded cheddar cheese.
  6. Bake for 25-30 minutes until the top is golden brown and bubbly.
  7. Serve warm and enjoy!

Notes

  • For a vegetarian version, omit the turkey bacon.
  • Can be prepared a day in advance and baked just before serving.
