  • 6 ounces turkey bacon, chopped
  • 1 cup diced onion
  • 1 cup diced carrots
  • 1 cup diced celery
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 6 cups chicken broth
  • 2 cups shredded cooked chicken
  • 2 cups frozen peas
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/3 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 pie crust

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C).
  2. In a large skillet, heat olive oil and cook the turkey bacon until crispy.
  3. Add onion, carrots, and celery. Cook until soft.
  4. Stir in garlic and cook for an additional minute.
  5. Add chicken broth, chicken, peas, thyme, salt, and pepper. Bring to a simmer.
  6. Mix flour with milk to create a slurry and add to the skillet, stirring until thickened.
  7. Pour filling into a pie crust and cover with another crust. Seal edges.
  8. Cut slits in the top crust to allow steam to escape.
  9. Bake for 30-35 minutes until golden brown.

Notes

  • Let the pie cool for 10 minutes before slicing.
