Scalloped Potatoes and Ham

Delicious scalloped potatoes layered with ham and turkey bacon, perfect for a comforting meal.

Ingredients

  • 4 large potatoes, thinly sliced
  • 1 cup cooked ham, diced
  • 1 cup turkey bacon, cooked and crumbled
  • 1/2 cup onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cups cheddar cheese, shredded
  • 2 cups milk
  • 3 tablespoons butter
  • 3 tablespoons flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat and stir in the flour to create a roux.
  3. Gradually add the milk, whisking continuously until the mixture thickens.
  4. Stir in the salt and pepper.
  5. In a greased baking dish, layer half of the potatoes, then half of the ham, onions, and cheese. Repeat the layers.
  6. Pour the milk mixture over the layers.
  7. Cover with aluminum foil and bake for 1 hour.
  8. Remove foil and bake for an additional 30 minutes or until golden and bubbly.

Notes

  • Let the dish sit for 10 minutes before serving to thicken.
