  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted

  • 1 tablespoon red food coloring
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×9 inch baking pan.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the granulated sugar, brown sugar, and melted butter until well combined.
  3. Add the eggs, vanilla extract, and red food coloring, and mix until smooth.
  4. In a separate bowl, combine the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
  6. Fold in the chocolate chips.
  7. Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan and spread evenly.
  8. Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out with a few moist crumbs.
  9. Allow to cool before cutting into squares.
